Adding to its significance, Ram Navami marks the culmination of the nine-day festival of Chaitra Navratri, a period dedicated to the worship of the Divine Feminine . This convergence underscores the profound spiritual energy of the period, culminating in the joyous arrival of Lord Rama.   

Observing the precise astrological timing is considered vital for devout followers. The midday period, known as Madhyahna Muhurta, is particularly auspicious for performing worship rituals . This is the time when Lord Rama is believed to have been born . While the specific timings can vary slightly based on location, the general window for this sacred observance on April 6th, 2025, in major cities across India is as follows 

Celebrations in Bhubaneswar, Odisha

The Eastern state of Odisha, notably the capital city of Bhubaneswar, observes Ram Navami with special fervor. The famed Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar is the focus of the celebration, which includes several significant rituals throughout the day. The celebration begins with the opening of the temple gates in the early morning, followed by the Mangal Arati at dawn. The rest of the day's events typically include a sacred Yajna during the morning hours, from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by the highlight of the day, a midday celebration of the birth of Lord Rama with specific rituals. These rituals usually last about an hour. Also of note is that the recitation of the Ram Charita Manas often begins during the preceding Navratri period. With special police arrangements to keep it peaceful and hassle-free, the celebration typically involves numerous devotees going to different shrines throughout Bhubaneswar to offer their prayers. Beyond Bhubaneswar, there are also special rituals at the revered Srimandir in Puri. And interestingly, the Jagannath Temple in Puri is temporarily closed for several hours during Ram Navami so these special rituals can be held. The way the focus is on temples and community involvement in Bhubaneswar specifically shines a light on the collective reverence for Lord Rama in Odisha and also on the strong local tradition of the celebration.
